While looking for a career in the art industry, the amazing world of hair found me! My first day of hair school, my means of going to art school, was the catalyst for this newfound art. After graduating from my hair school in Minneapolis MN, I relocated to Atlanta GA to learn more about haircutting and styling, working with some of the most prestigious stylists Atlanta had to offer. Finding the opportunity, I jumped on opening Salon Modello, a place where stylists sharing my passion could nurture their own individual talents while creating the quality and consistency that every client deserves. With over 20 years of experience, I specialize in both classic and non-traditional cutting techniques as well as hair styling for all your special events. I will treat every guest as a work of art, transforming them to bring out the beauty of their own individual style. My attention to detail and my drive for further education make me one of the premiere hair stylists in Atlanta.

After attending The Aveda Institute in 2015, I started at a small salon in Atlanta where I started developing a huge passion for education in the hair world. I constantly sought out classes and opportunities to advance my knowledge, improve my skills, and learn new techniques. This industry is always evolving, so keeping up with the trends is something that is very important to me. I have participated, assisted, and worked on hair in many hair and fashion shows, including New York Fashion Week. As of August this year 2023, I can proudly say that I am officially a Kevin Murphy color educator for the SouthEast region and fully intend to grow and advance in this role.

My lifelong passion for haircutting began many moons ago with an education at Vidal Sassoon. His styles allowed women to be free from the lengthy process of styling & curling. Inspired by his architectural approach & wash & wear philosophy, I strive to focus the cut & shape around the hair's natural movement & growth direction so that it falls into place & looks great with less effort.
My journey began at Van Michael's salon, then my career veered out of the salon & into the freelance world which lead me to NYC where I worked for over 20 years. First in fashion & beauty photography & then theater, television & film. I’m proud to have been able to bring ideas to life for visionaries such as Gillian Anderson, Gerard Butler, Vanessa Kirby, Michael Rooker, Fiona Shaw, Alan Rickman and Elvis Costello.

Krystal is originally from Puerto Rico, however, Atlanta has been her second home for quite some time and we are so grateful, to have her here at Salon Modello! She graduated from Paul Mitchell Atlanta and has been in the industry for some time now. She thrives doing color and major transformations that allow her to be creative. Being the homebody that she is, Krystal spends her time away from hair reading, watching How To Get Away with Murder, and making yummy baked goods.
